This is an upright version of a portable air meter by Negretti & Zambra with its fitted wooden case, which dates to the latter part of the 19th century. Not only is this a super item in its own right by a much sought after maker, but it also has the added interest of having featured in a high profile TV show. The aluminium vanes are intact and spin freely, and the dials can be reset with the brass knurled knob. ![]() This instrument is in perfect working order, and in very good cosmetic condition throughout, with very little paint loss, and the plinth size is 7” x 4”. It’s the upright version and incorporates 3 dials measuring 100's, 1000's and 10,000's and a large sweep hand on main dial which is graduated from 0 - 100. Mounted on a wooden display plinth, the dial reads ‘No 5847 AIR METER TO 100,000 FEET, NEGRETTI & ZAMBRA, LONDON’. It featured in the Manor House task and was used as an object of interest by the celebrities in the show.
